These short historicals are set mostly in England at a time when England was at war with France and Jane Austen wrote her novels. The theme of "Dangerous To Know" is getting a second chance in life. The hero, Lord Langdon, is a disreputable rake, who is so far gone that he almost doesn't survive a duel over a woman. It's the point of no return and Langdon prefers death to rescue and continuing to live his dissolute life.
