Emerald City Writer's Conference booksigning, 10/8/05 (4pm-6pm)

Signing at Emerald City
Here I am signing at the Emerald City conference. I managed to sell all my Touched By Time and most of my Dangerous To Know I've had the most fun I've ever had at this conference. (There's also a pic of me singing karaoke "Paperback Writer" with a bunch of fellow writers but you're not getting to see that one!)

RWA National Beau Monde's Soiree, 7/27/05 (8:30pm til late)

Last year I wore a green gown, this year it was a steelgrey/purple gown. I really need to get stays (or lose more weight).

RWA National Literacy Booksigning, 7/27/05 (5:30-8:30pm)

Me at RWA National
Here I am in Reno, Nevada at the Reno Hilton in their pavilion waiting for readers! There were over 400 authors in one huge room and RWA raised over $50,000 for literacy!

Launch of Dangerous To Know at Mysterious Galaxy, 4/9/05

Leanne Shawler at her book launch
Above: Before I started signing books at Mysterious Galaxy, I talked a bit about how I developed the hero from being a very bad guy and about the number of revisions I went through before I was published. I think I'll take notecards next time. Just about everyone there was someone I knew, except for three people (only one of which came up afterwards to introduce himself!) Also up for grabs were scones, which I confess I made from a mix!

RWA National 2004, in Dallas, Texas

The first salers
Above: Teresa Bodwell, myself and Judith Laik on the night of the RITA and Golden Heart Awards Ceremony (Saturday, July 31st, 2004). All three of us sold to Kensington as a result of the contest run for guests of the VIC-RWA conference in March, 2004. Teresa came first, Judith and I came equal third. Naturally, we have bonded!
The Three Beau Monders
Above: myself, Forrest Ashley (Jennifer Ashley's husband) and Shirley Karr in Regency costume during the RWA National conference's booksigning for literacy on Wednesday night (28th July, 2004). We handed out postcards listing all the published Beau Monde (Regency) authors and then had our picture taken. This is actually the best of the pictures that was taken! So I thought, what the hey, and gave it a gold frame and a canvas texture--now it looks like a somewhat impressionistic painting!

RWASD Meeting, May 2004

Red roses

Above: Making my announcement about my two-book sale to Kensington/Zebra during the chapter meeting. Can you tell I'm breathless? For each romance sale, an RWASD author gets a red rose. As you can see, I'm clutching two!
